This old battle scarred hippo bull was taken on the 5th day of a 14 day crocodile and hippo hunt on the south shore of Lake Caborra Bassa in the Northwest corner of Mozambique by Gene Human in July 2009 with ph Winston Taylor. The entire hippo, sans a couple of fillets and the skull, was shot in a particular location next to a specific village and given to the villagers upon orders from the government in celebration of Mozambique’s independance from Portugal.
