Apparently Amara (Nina Dobrev) was the first and she and Silas (Paul Wesley) had a cute baby that kept the bloodline of the doppelgangers alive. And we learn that each female doppelganger shares a deep connection with a male doppelganger from her time. So get ready for more doppelgangers showing their not so new faces in Mystic Falls. Amara has Silas, Elena (Nina Dobrev) has Stefan (Paul Wesley) and we’ll meet two more: Tatia’s better half Simon (Paul Wesley) and Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) destined doppelganger Stephen (Paul Wesley). And all comes to light at a tragic Halloween dance when, in a tentative to merge our world with the other side, a catastrophe takes place and swallows the whole city, making Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Jeremy (Steve Mcqueen), Matt (Zach Roerig), Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) join Bonnie (Kat Graham) in the afterlife. Only the doppelgangers (all played by Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley) will survive to keep the balance in the world with their epic love.”
