Rarity: "Welcome to Rio, girls! With Carnival just around the corner, things may get a bit...rough, even for us. But don*t let that spoil your fun; one can have fun while staying smart about it!" [Looks out on the bay, spotting boats raucous partiers buzzing about the water. None are any bigger than a toy by her perspective] "Then again, we do have the advantage in size and magic..."
[Rarity smirks and tosses her head, making the feather on her crown sway in the night breeze]
Twilight Sparkle: "I read about this *Carnival* already, but I never knew it could be this...lively! I think even Pinkie Pie would be impressed! Ooh, I may have to take notes between all the fun; Princess Luna did ask me to report on Human nightlife. Ooh, maybe this*ll help liven the Grand Galloping Gala up next year!"
[The thought of doing an assignment from the Princesses, by partying, is enough to make Twilight squee in delight, breaking into a huge grin. She*s already thinking of everything from the chemistry of mixed drinks, to the physics of how Humans can stay balanced while wearing the extravagant costumes she*s heard of during Carnival season...that, and how to possibly brighten up the stuffy Gala WITHOUT causing mass panic and mayhem]
Rarity: [Giggles] "Twilight, dear---thinking of homework at a time like this? Puh-leeze, dear; just cut loose! You can take notes and such after the fun, when the rush of all this has passed. Besides, how could you properly enjoy yourself if you*re focused on homework?"
Twilight Sparkle: [Smirks and gives Rarity a sideways glance] "Like how you were so adamant about dressing up in that crown, and me wearing my old Gala dress, so you could show off to the Humans and nab a few new customers?"
[Twilight*s quip is punctuated when, down below on the plateau she towers over, a DJ plays a rimshot over the speakers, drawing laughs and cheers from the dancing crowd. Rarity blushes, knowing she*s been caught bang to rights]
Rarity: [Clutching her chest in mock pain] "Oh! You wound me, Twilight!"
*Meanwhile, further away from the city:*
Trixie Lulamoon: [Annoyed and incredulous] "...And when you said that your attire for this trip was *inspired* by Trixie*s style, Trixie took it to mean that you had ADAPTED her stage outfit to yourself, not blatantly copy it."
Vinyl Scratch: [Smirks] "Don*t be so ticked, Trixie. Think of it as...a remix. I do that with music all the time; even messed around with some of Tavi*s fancy cello stuff! If I can do that with music, why not clothes? And anyway, you*re not wearing anything at all. So...why get all hot and bothered about my duds when you*re going around naked?"
Trixie Lulamoon: [Snorts and grumbles under her breath]
