Attitudes and Jobsatisfaction
1. Attitudes are evaluativestatements-----either favorable or unfavorable ----about objects, people, orevents. They reflect how we feel ablut something
(For example, whenyou say “I like my job, ”you are expressing your attitude about work)
2. Simple answer, but the reasons underlyingare probably complicated.
3.three components: cognition, affect, behavior(relationship)
4.cognitivedissonance, seek a stable state(consistency) and minimum of dissonance
5.Job satisfaction,a positive feeling about a job, resulting from an evaluation ofcharacteristics.
Job involvement, which measures the degree towhich people identify psychologically with their jobs and consider theirperceived performance levels important to self-worth.

    A preliminary plan
    1. Ask classmates what the definition of attitude is. And then tell them the answer. About10 minutes
    2. A role-play game. Every one will be provided a position by drawing lots. Ask students whether they are satisfied with this job or not. Why? (GIVEN Salary, promotion, supervision, work itself, co-worker...) 30 minutes
    3. Tell classmates what factors result in our feelings to the job.
Which factor do you think is most important. 15 minutes
    4. Do a research of job satisfaction. 10 minutes
    5. Everyone get a chance to exchange his position with another person. And then do the research of job satisfaction again.
    30 minutes
6.What does job satisfaction means? Ask them and then draw a conclusion.

        Tax
It is important for you to know, that tax is included in these wages. Tax is approximately 30% of this wage, so you will receive about 2/3 of the given wages.
It is also important to note that the employer may deduct money from your salary for your house or for your health insurance. Every resident of The Netherlands is obliged to have a Dutch health insurance. You have to discuss this with your (future) employer

For all of Holland (no Amsterdam surcharges): around 3000-4000 euro gross per month which usually (taxes and social security premiums) translates to between 1500-2000 euro net in hand. This is between 1 and 2 times the *modal* income as we call our statistical target.
As a comparison: Sandya does a relatively simple job in catering and gets 600 euro net for 20 h/week, would get 1100 euro net for 40 h/week (--> progressive tax system). That*s around the modal income.
