Old TownLandmarks
Old Town is the historic centre of Warsaw. Tragically, it was obliterated in WWII. However, paintings by the artist Canaletto gave a template of how the city looked and were instrumental to the post-war restoration. Today, Old Town breathes again: roam around Market Square, admire quaint façades or contemplate the past in a café.

Wilanów Palace is like a testament to royal excess. Neatly clipped hedges, symmetrical pathways, and a baroque exterior that gleams with a white and yellow lustre. Inside, its lavish chambers are jam-packed with artefacts from Europe and the Orient, including ancient Roman busts and some oddities – like the Chinese frog-shaped spittoons.
