When I was a kid, my dad would sometimes take my brother Terry and I to work on Saturday morning when he had stuff to finish. The offices were completely empty and we had a blast exploring and playing hide and seek in the cubicles.
One particular time in July, we were walking past the Chairman’s office when I noticed the door wasn't shut. We had never been in there but we knew it was something special.
The attraction was too strong. We had to check it out. We slowly walked in. We stood there for a moment. I remember the massive wooden desk, the huge leather chair and the smell of cigars. “So this is what power looks like” I thought. We knew we weren’t supposed to be there…
Terry approached a large cabinet. Something caught his attention. There was this beautiful glimmering gold watch. We had never seen anything like that. As I reached out to touch it, I heard the door of the office opening. I turned around and saw Mr. Chairman standing…
What happened next really terrified Terry and I but I realized years later that it was a key moment in the creation of Rossling & Co.
