As a lazy student, the alchemist is one of the few literary works that I have read, and I think I would rate this book 7.5 out of 10. The whole book is about a boy named Santiago who is following his dreams and searching for his treasure. The story is very inspirational and cautions people to follow their hearts and try to follow their dreams, "When you truly desire something, the entire universe will unite to help you fulfill it" is probably one of the most mind-blowing quotes in the whole book. I was really inspired by this book, I sometimes give up on things I really want to do in reality because of fear or laziness or something else, I was like the crystal merchant in this book, and through the sad ending of the crystal merchant, this book made me realize that, and I might change because of this book, and that's why I rated it as a 7.5 out of 10, but I think this book has a lot of flaws. This book also has a lot of implausibilities, for example, didn't Santiago like the merchant's daughter, how come he liked Fatima all of a sudden later on, this made me feel like Fatima appeared purely to advance the plot, and this forced insertion of a character into the story make me really feel uncomfortable.
